Bringing Voices Together for Good: Arjun’s Music-Driven Community Impact
Arjun, a Milton Academy junior and VMA Massachusetts State Senator, brings musicians together through performance and fundraising—using his voice to serve communities and support meaningful causes.
Arjun is a junior at Milton Academy (Milton, MA) and a gifted tenor/baritone whose musical life is deeply intertwined with service. His training includes work with the New England Conservatory, Handel and Haydn Society, and Tanglewood Institute, along with instruction from faculty affiliated with the Walnut Hill School for the Arts. At school, he performs as a member of the Milton Academy Chamber Choir and the Miltones, the school’s a cappella group.
Beyond performance, Arjun is passionate about using music to bring people together for a purpose. He founded the Milton Salon Concerts, a salon-style fundraising concert series that welcomes musicians of all genres from Milton Academy and partner institutions including NEC, H+H, and Walnut Hill. These concerts create an intimate, community-focused setting where music becomes a catalyst for generosity and awareness.
Through this initiative, Arjun has already made a significant impact. His concerts have raised nearly $7,000 for charitable causes, including $2,880 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, where his work was featured on BCRF’s official Instagram page, and $3,770 for Save the Children in Ukraine. He also regularly performs at elderly homes through school, bringing live music directly to community members who benefit deeply from these moments of connection.
More recently, Arjun joined Volunteer Musicians for the Arts (VMA) as a Massachusetts State Senator, where he works to expand student participation in music-based community service across the state. His leadership reflects a clear belief: when musicians collaborate with intention, their collective impact can reach far beyond the concert hall.
Whether organizing salon concerts, performing in community spaces, or building new partnerships through VMA, Arjun exemplifies how young musicians can lead with purpose—using their voices not only to perform, but to serve.
