Kicking Off Our 2026 Partnership with One Wingate Way
One Wingate Way provides a warm, sophisticated, yet welcoming environment that is ideal for easing our younger students into community outreach. Performing in such a supportive space helps our students build confidence while learning the importance of giving back through their art.
A Growing Audience & Shared Connection
It was heartening to see the community room filled with even more residents than our previous visit just a few months ago. The atmosphere was vibrant and engaged; residents didn't just listen—they participated. From Broadway favorites and Jazz standards to timeless Classical masterpieces, the audience was eager to make song requests and share their own reflections on what the music meant to them.
Beyond the Performance: A Steinway Experience
Our partnership goes beyond the monthly concerts. As a Steinway Educational Partner, the VMA recently helped facilitate a special field trip for One Wingate Way residents. The group traveled by bus to M. Steinert & Sons, where they enjoyed an immersive look into the craftsmanship, history and cutting-edge technology of Steinway & Sons pianos.
M. Steinert & Sons hosted the VMA’s first open house in 2025 and we look forward to continued collaborations.

We are thrilled to continue this monthly residency throughout 2026. In the coming months, we look forward to:
Introducing more VMA school clubs into the programming — especially in our June summer concert
Fostering new friendships between our student performers and the residents.
Continuing to bring world-class music to the Needham community.
