“What do you wanna do with your life?!”

“You’re probably saying to yourselves, ‘Now I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna get the world by the tail and wrap it around and pull it down and put it in my pocket!’” - Matt Foley (Chris Farley)

“What do you want to do with your life?” asked Matt Foley, the fictional motivational speaker played by the late legendary comedian Chris Farley, during his epic lecture to two teenagers portrayed by David Spade and Christina Applegate.

It’s a question often asked of teenagers in classrooms, guidance offices, and at the dinner table. But for a remarkable group of our high school musicians, the answer is already taking shape — not in theory, but in action.

This year, our Cushing Academy Leadership Initiative Gold Track student, Ruslan Ivanov, officially received approval from the school’s administration to start a VMA club dedicated to community outreach through music.
