Building Community Through Music in Los Angeles

Launched this fall, the VMA Los Angeles Club, led by cellist, Ronnie Wang, a member of the VMA Leadership Initiative, is already bringing students together in service. Members have been rehearsing outreach performances for the Ronald McDonald House and local assisted living venues, using classical music to offer comfort, connection, and care.

Through collaboration and shared purpose, students are learning that leadership in music is rooted in empathy and responsibility. By preparing performances that serve others, the Los Angeles Club reflects the VMA’s belief that when young musicians lead with care, music becomes a meaningful act of service.

Ronnie Wang and the VMA Los Angeles Club rehearse pop and classical over the weekend, posting their collaborations on Instagram.
