A Strong First Year for Newton South’s VMA Club

Newton South High School’s official VMA Club, founded in fall 2024 by Hailey Yamagata (piano) and Andrew Petrilla (violin), has already made an extraordinary impact in its first year. The group has performed at VMA’s Holiday Concert (December 2024), the Scandinavian Cultural Center, a special Valentine’s Day performance at Stonehill Rehabilitation, and most recently at One Wingate Way—along with additional outreach performances at assisted living residences.

This early momentum is a testament to the dedication, leadership, and heart of these students, as well as the behind-the-scenes support of the professional musicians and staff who make the Junior Program possible. An inspiring way to ring in the New Year!
