Why the Club President Monthly Report Matters
The VMA Club President Monthly Report is more than a form — it is how student leaders help document the real impact music is making in their schools and communities.
Each month, Club Presidents share updates on membership growth, outreach performances, recruitment efforts, fundraising progress, and community engagement through the VMA pillars of serve, fundraise, and lead. From nursing homes and hospitals to shelters, schools, and assisted living communities, the report helps national student leadership understand how clubs across the country are growing and serving others through music.
The report also allows VMA to better support clubs by identifying challenges, celebrating milestones, and recognizing emerging student leaders. Presidents track recruitment activities such as social media outreach, flyers, teacher connections, interest tables, and student referrals, helping clubs build sustainable and welcoming communities for young musicians.
In addition to outreach and growth, the report tracks participation in the Sweet Sounds of Service fundraiser, encouraging clubs to work together toward meaningful annual fundraising goals that help sustain outreach concerts and service opportunities nationwide.
Most importantly, the Monthly Report teaches students that leadership is not simply holding a title — it is about communication, accountability, consistency, and service to others. Through these reports, Club Presidents help strengthen a national network of young musicians dedicated to using the arts to make a difference.
If you are a VMA Club President, please remember to submit your Monthly Report each month so we can continue celebrating and supporting your club’s impact across the country.
