Raising Leaders A Few Time Zones Away

Welcome! If we haven’t met to discuss an outreach plan for your child, please register and join a virtual Family Orientation. These relaxed, Q&A-style sessions are held every two weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6:30–7:30 PM EST. High schoolers are encouraged to attend with their parents.

We've got 2 venues reserved on Sunday afternoon, 6/28 in Needham, MA: One Wingate Way, and 4pm at North Hill. Register as a solo student performer or student club/group for our summer outreach concerts. Final concert assignments will be confirmed after registration closes. You must be a Junior Program member to perform in VMA concerts. Registration closes June 1. Reach out with any questions!

Current 2026 National Council Candidates
The VMA’s three pillars are service, stewardship, and leadership. Our Junior Program members will be democratically electing their first president and cabinet members this summer who meet the nomination requirements of all three pillars. We are the only nonprofit uniting classically trained young musicians through club, state, and national student government. Nomination deadline is June 1.
“My Child Is Happy Performing Alone” — Why the VMA Still Believes in Community
For younger students especially, social musical experiences vary greatly. Some music teachers host regular recitals; others do not. Some students study privately with a parent and may never experience group performances at all. That is okay.
