Meet Elle Lester: Musician, Equestrian, and Community Leader in San Diego

We are excited to welcome Elle Lester to the VMA Junior Program!

Elle is a student at Mt. Everest Academy in San Diego, California, and she is already bringing a wonderful vision for music, service, and leadership to her community. An organist and pianist, Elle is preparing to start a VMA club at her school—creating opportunities for young musicians to connect, perform, and share their talents with others.

Outside of music, Elle is also an equestrian who enjoys dressage, another discipline that reflects the dedication, patience, focus, and artistry she brings to her many interests.

When asked what inspired her to start a club, Elle shared:

“I’d like to have a group to perform in places around San Diego to inspire others to pick up an instrument!”

That simple idea captures so much of what the VMA Foundation is about. Music has the power to bring people together, brighten someone's day, and inspire the next generation of musicians. Through her new club, Elle hopes to create a community of students who can take their music beyond the practice room and into the places where it can make a difference.

As both an organist and pianist (Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elleontheorgan), Elle brings a unique musical perspective to the VMA community. Her interest in both music and dressage also reflects a love for the arts, discipline, and the process of developing skills over time. We are excited to see how her leadership develops as she begins building connections with fellow students at Mt. Everest Academy and exploring opportunities to perform throughout the San Diego area.

Every new club begins with an idea—and Elle's idea is a powerful one: bring young musicians together, share music with the community, and inspire others to pick up an instrument.

Welcome to VMA, Elle! We can't wait to see where your music, leadership, and many passions take you.

Interested in starting a VMA Junior Program club at your school? Students in grades 1–12 can join the VMA community and help create new opportunities for music, service, and leadership in their own communities.
