December 6th: Inaugural Giving Society Concert Series

Created for members of The Cynthia Yasuda Annual Giving Society, the series connects philanthropy with meaningful experiences in music and community service. Young musicians have the opportunity to perform intimate concerts for residents at Maplewood at Weston in Weston, Massachusetts, while donors and families can see the impact of their support firsthand.

The series begins with the Cynthia Yasuda Giving Society Fundraiser Concert on Sunday, December 6 at 2 p.m. at Maplewood at Weston. The event will bring together students, families, donors, and supporters for an afternoon celebrating music, service, and generosity.

Looking ahead, VMA plans to offer recurring student participation opportunities throughout 2027, with concerts generally scheduled for the third Saturday of each month from 2–3 p.m. These programs are thoughtfully prepared for the assisted living community, giving students more than a chance to perform—they give them a chance to serve.

At its heart, the Giving Society Concert Series reflects VMA's belief that young musicians can use their talents to make a difference. Through every performance, students build confidence and leadership while bringing the joy of live music to others.

Join the VMA Foundation’s Giving Society

Members of The Cynthia Yasuda Annual Giving Society invest in the leadership, stewardship, and organizational capacity that help sustain the VMA Foundation and its charitable mission for the long term.

As a benefit of Giving Society membership, families may register for the monthly Giving Society Concert Series. A minimum annual contribution of $50 per participating family is required to register. Families may request participation in one or more upcoming concert dates as opportunities become available.

Performance opportunities are limited, and priority registration is based on Giving Society membership level and available capacity:

President’s Circle → Legacy Circle → Benefactor → Patron → Friend of the VMA

While a contribution and registration do not guarantee a performance opportunity, Giving Society members have the opportunity to be considered for upcoming concerts, with priority given according to the Giving Society structure above. When space permits, additional registered families may also be invited to participate.

By joining the Giving Society, families help strengthen the VMA Foundation for the future while opening the door to meaningful opportunities to share music, serve the community, and grow as young musicians and leaders.
