Welcome, Caleb! A New School Club in California

he VMA Foundation is excited to welcome Caleb from Corona del Mar, California, to the VMA Junior Program!

Caleb recently submitted an application to establish a VMA school club at his school, with an estimated 40 students interested in participating. He hopes to serve as the club’s President, helping bring students together through music and creating opportunities for them to use their talents in meaningful ways.

What especially stood out in Caleb’s application was his vision for what music can do for others:

“I’m overall extremely interested in music as a whole and hope to bring joy to others through our use of specialized choral, instrumental, or R and B music.”

He continued, sharing his hope that music could help others experience the same joy he feels when he sings.

That spirit is at the heart of the VMA Junior Program.

Young Musicians Who Serve

At VMA, we believe music education should extend beyond learning notes, preparing for competitions, or performing on a stage. Young musicians have the ability to bring people together, build community, and serve others through their musical gifts.

Caleb’s vision for a school club reflects exactly that philosophy. By bringing together students with different musical interests—including choral, instrumental, and R&B music—his club can become a place where students discover not only what they can do as musicians, but what they can do for others.

As a club leader, Caleb will have the opportunity to help organize fellow students, encourage participation, and build a culture of service through music.

And with an estimated 40 students interested, there is already a strong foundation for a vibrant VMA community at his school.

Growing the VMA Community

Caleb's club also represents an exciting step in VMA's continued growth beyond Massachusetts. Each new school club brings the VMA mission to another community and gives more young musicians an opportunity to experience music as a vehicle for service and leadership.

From California to communities across the country, we're building a national network of young musicians who believe that their musical gifts can make a difference.

Welcome to VMA, Caleb! We're so glad you're here.

We can't wait to see how you bring your love of music—and your vision for bringing joy to others—to your school community.

Because everyone deserves orchestra seats.
