The VMA Foundation is delighted to welcome Alison Saporta to the VMA Educators Circle.
A New York City–based lyric soprano, opera singer, and mentor with the National Children’s Chorus, Alison brings together a career in performance with a commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
Her connection to VMA began more than a decade ago, when she performed with VMA at Massachusetts General Hospital, bringing music and moments of relief to patients, visitors, and staff. Today, that same spirit of service continues through her work as a mentor to young singers.
Alison earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah. Her performance career has included opera, recital, and contemporary music, with appearances in venues including OPERA America’s Scorca Hall in New York City.
For VMA, Alison represents what the Educators Circle is all about: music educators and professional musicians who believe that their influence extends beyond the lesson or the stage.
By sharing their experience, encouraging young musicians, and helping students discover ways to use music in service of others, members of the Educators Circle help pass that philosophy to the next generation.
